Can I File For Workers’ Compensation if I Am Only Employed Part Time?

You may believe that because you are only a part time worker, or because you have not worked at your current job for a significant duration of time, you are not eligible to receive workers’ compensation benefits. However, as clarified above, all workers, regardless of how many hours they work, are entitled to workers’ compensation benefits. Per Arizona workers’ compensation law, this includes all workers whether they are “part-time, full-time, minors, aliens, or family members.” If your employer tries to deny you workers’ compensation insurance because you are not a full-time worker, he or she is in violation of Arizona law, and you should seek legal counsel in order to claim the benefits to which you are legally entitled.
